It’s cold.
It’s been five minutes since I reached the metro station.
She always used to tell me,
“Bangalore is very cold in winter.”
Now I finally understand what she meant.
The cold isn’t just in the air – it’s in my hands, my breath, my waiting.
Where is she?
She said she would be on time.
When I see her… what should I do first?
Hug her or kiss her?
No, kissing might be too fast.
This is our first meeting after we committed.
I still can’t believe it.
I’m in a relationship with my first love.
Will she think I’m crazy?
It’s only been two nights since we became a couple,
and I’ve already travelled 989 kilometres just to meet her.
Where is she?
At least I smile knowing one thing –
I bought her favourite snacks.
My foodie girlfriend will definitely love them.
Ahhh…
My girlfriend.
Yes. My girlfriend.
While I’m lost in my thoughts, suddenly –
a soft hand intertwines with mine.
I freeze.
I turn my head… and there she is.
The love of my life.
My girlfriend.
She gently holds my hand and slips it into the pocket of the jacket she’s wearing,
as if it’s the most natural thing in the world.
I go blank.
I don’t react.
I don’t even breathe properly.
I feel shy – unexpectedly shy.
How can she do this so suddenly?
I hope she doesn’t notice me blushing.
But deep inside… I’m loving every second of it.
She’s beautiful.
I can feel how cold she is through her fingers.
She’s wearing a little makeup today.
Not heavy.
Just simple. Soft. Perfect.
And that’s when it hits me.
She doesn’t even like makeup.
She always says it feels unnecessary, uncomfortable.
Yet today… she made the effort.
For me.
That thought makes me happier than I can explain.
It’s not about how she looks –
it’s about why she chose to do it.
Her curly hair frames her face perfectly.
Her chubby cheeks make it impossible not to smile.
How could I not fall in love with this girl?
I can tell she’s just as excited as I am.
Her hand is still cold.
Mine is warm now.
And I know –
this moment is only the beginning.
– Part 1 (His POV)
