Sometimes I felt like I was nothing. I was always running—from life, from love, and even from myself. I didn’t know what I was doing or where I was going. I was just moving with the flow, hoping it would take me somewhere safe. But that flow often left me alone.
Loneliness became familiar. I had been alone for most of my life, yet I kept chasing love—chasing people, friends, and connections—believing they would fill the emptiness inside me. I gave too much of myself, expecting understanding in return, but most of the time, I was left unheard.
So I escaped.
I lived in my imagination, where dreams felt real and pain had no voice. In that world, I was happy. Life was lighter there, kinder. My dreams protected me when reality felt too heavy to carry.
But slowly, I realized something important.
Running away was not freedom—it was fear. Chasing others was not love—it was a search for validation. And being alone didn’t mean I was empty; it meant I had never learned how to stand with myself.
One day, I stopped running.
I started listening to my silence. I learned to sit with my loneliness instead of fighting it. And in that quiet space, I found strength I never knew I had. I understood that love doesn’t always come from outside—it begins within.
Now, I still dream. I still imagine. But I no longer hide there. I walk forward, carrying my past with acceptance, not regret. Life is still uncertain, but for the first time, I am not afraid of myself.
And that is my lesson:
Sometimes, losing yourself is the only way to truly find who you are.
